Acknowledgement Messages

An acknowledgement message is a special type of document you receive in your eInbox. Its primary purpose is to inform the sender about the status of delivery and optionally allow the cancellation of the sent document.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Different types of acknowledgement messages reflect the processing status of document:

  • Acknowledgement message 12 - The document was successfully received by the recipient or their electronic exchange provider.
  • Acknowledgement message -99 - A technical rejection by the recipient or exchange provider. The message includes the reason for rejection (e.g., incorrect structure, missing data).
  • Acknowledgement message 27 - A business/content rejection from the recipient (optional, applies to invoices only).
  • Acknowledgement message 29 - A bussines/content confirmation from the recipient (optional, applies to invoices only).

When Are Acknowledgements Received?

  • Types 12 or -99 are usually received within minutes after sending.
  • If recipient's provider is not bizBox, the acknowledgement is send immediately after technical processing.
  • If the provider is bizBox, the acknowledgement is sent once the recipient manually confirms or rejects the invoice content.

Types 27 or 29 (content-based) may arrive later, only if the recipient manually confirms or rejects the invoice content.

  • Type 12 typically contains no description.
  • Types -99, 27 and 29 often contain error details or messages from recipient.
